2018 Holidays

Our holiday season of 2018 felt very busy. I hoped to get four "Elf" gigs, but I ended up booking nine, and having a few extra freebie appearances as well. The most unique gig was for Kelly's Furniture. They had their Christmas party at the Evergreen Air & Space Museum. It was so cool! After playing with the crowd and leading the group in the singing of Christmas carols, we got to explore the museum. Then we went to the IMAX screen, where we all watched Elf together. It was surreal! During the snowball fight we started a snowball fight right in the IMAX (with cotton snowballs from Oriental Trading Supply) and it was fully epic. Definitely a night to remember!   Cool! Other fun appearances included picking Maddie up from Middle School (I was mobbed by kids and took countless "Elfies"), visiting Costco, and visiting Sharlie and Gemma's school classes. Who knew we'd get so much mileage out of the costume? It makes me happy, because i...

Halloween 2018!

This year we decided to tone things down a bit in the costume department. So we purchased the majority of our costumes. This was partially done so Brooke would have a bit more time to work on my new Buddy the Elf costume. The first was made with fleece, and the new one will be boiled wool, with an authentic leather belt. Yes! Left Shark, Luna Lovegood, Belle, Owlette, and Gecko! The highlight of my day was going to work, snapping this photo, and announcing on our internal social media platform that Left Shark would be doing a special halftime show. This year Maddie asked if she could throw a Halloween party with her friends. They had yummy treats, played games, and Brooke put together a great scavenger hunt around the house. The best part was when one of them had to put their hand in cold, soggy oatmeal, to pull out a clue! Pumpkin barfing that amazing sausage and Rotel dip! Left Shark crashed the party for just a fe...

Summer 2018

Image
Oh man, this spring and summer were busy, and I failed to keep on top of photos/videos. So here's one big recap! We had all the kids' birthdays, tons of Jenks summer shows, and lots of fun. Here are some of the visual highlights: We took Maddie to DQ for her birthday. The 5 buck lunch is heaven on earth, but I believe it's trying to kill me (I want to eat there all the time)! Sharlie finished "100 Mile Club." We started our summer library shows in Lebanon (the city, not the country). Our turnout was huge! YES!!! It was a great show! I've started wearing headbands when I juggle. Man, I'm getting old. Gemma put tape on her face. I guess that's not very unique. Maddie made these adorable baby pies! We went swimming at a neighbor's house. JUMP!!! We booked shows at all 16 library branches for the Washington County Library District. This one was in Beaverton, and Karen and her rad kids came....
