Pioneer Day!

Image
We got to attend church with Mom and Dad while we were in town, and they had a really great Pioneer Day celebration for the kids.  We danced, we ate, we rode in handcarts, and we sang awesome songs around the campfire! Check out the highlights:

Free Song and Rad New Concerts!

So I recently wrote a rockin' song all about summer. I gathered inspiration from what lots of friends online told me were their favorite things to do in the summertime. You can listen to and download the song for free, right here: I also got do to some really fun new shows. I played two sets at the Salem Art Fair, and a bunch of my co-workers came and they all danced with me. It was so cool! We had a great crowd! Singing new songs with my new dino T-shirt! "Do the Caveman!" Under the leg. After the Salem shows we had a long drive to Troy. The traffic in Portland was terrible, and we didn't make it to Mom and Dad's until 1:00 a.m.! The next morning we picked up Chelsea and Brynn Lee and took them to Colfax for my shows at the Concrete River Festival. The girls had a blast spending time together. Cousins are awesome! Can you guess what the "M" and "C" are for? Teaching the kids how to do a dinosaur im...

Summer Fun + Visits!

Image
Summer continues on in Oregon. July brought some fun visitors. Brooke's parents stayed with us for most of a week, and they even babysat the kids so we could go to a little Anniversary lunch. We were also totally surprised when Joey called and said he would be around Salem for a few days, as he was calling baseball games. He arrived and then we were all totally surprised when Lauren knocked on the door! It was totally awesome! Joey and Lauren came! And look, they brought Winger's sauce!!! We all chowed down on S'mores! Celebrating 11 years of awesome-sauce marriage. YES!!! We love to laugh, just like those crazy people in Mary Poppins! On Sunday we all went to visit Grandma Jentzsch's grave site.

So we loved Spokane, but one of the things we really DID NOT LOVE about Spokane was the fact that any and all fireworks were illegal! Now that we live in Oregon we get to exercise our American right to light stuff on fire! So we bought some fireworks and set them off in our cul-de-sac. Gemma tried to force feed me a rock... Getting ready to light fireworks. This is what happens when you spend seven years in a place where you can't light fireworks. When you finally get to do it again, you go a little nuts. Three cute girls! I have no idea where they get their weirdness. I blame Brooke! Fireworks are AWESOME!!! We spent most of the holiday with Whitney and Karen in Beaverton. Their neighborhood throws an amazing party, with breakfast, a parade, an awesome clown act, and lots of bouncy castles and free food. It was epic! Getting ready for the parade. Cooper! Gemma's ready for the parade. BJ the Clown! Th...
