Memorial Day Weekend

Image
For Memorial Day this year we piled into the van and headed down through the mountains.  We stopped in Deer Lodge to visit the historic Grant-Kohrs cattle ranch.  The weather, while a little chilly, provided some beautiful vistas! The rest of our weekend was spent in Rexburg at Brooke's parent's home.  We had a great time with lots of family time, some fun activities, and excellent food!  For all the highlights, check out the video: The funniest part of the weekend was Gemma's obsession with Grandpa's mustache.  She found it extremely interesting! I've always wanted to go to Big Jud's, and boy was it awesome!  I was blown away by how moist the bun was.  They even had Ironport, which is one of my favorite sodas. Look, it's as big as my face!!! What a cute little girl! Maddie loved Big Jud's too! Gemma officially took her first steps on vacation.  She got a solid four in before she gave up.  We're still tr...

Gemma's 1st Birthday!

Image
I can't believe our sweet baby Gemma is 1!  Her first year has been so much fun and we've been so blessed to have her in our family.  Gemma loves to stand at the front door and spy on the neighbors! She even got her own cake (okay, so Albertson's was having a sale!) Ahh yeah, that's some good cake! It took forever to clean up this mess! Gemma's favorite present was her swing.  She was grinning and laughing the whole time she was in there! Cute Brooke on Gemma's b-day What a sweet little girl.  Can you tell her daddy is totally enamored?! Just hanging out in one of the drawers!

The Jenks Family Circus!

So for this year's talent show we decided to involve the whole family, and we unveiled the Jenks Family Circus!  The kids had a blast practicing, Brooke made awesome costumes, and the baby hit all her marks.  It was tons of fun!  Check it out: What do you think?  Are we ready to go on tour?! In other news, Grandma Howard was in town from Boise, and we got to spend a few fun hours talking with her.  The kids had fun telling her about everything going on in their lives, and we even did a short Jenks Family Circus preview for Grandma.  Fun! In late April I went to Camp Grizzly for the annual Mountain Man competition.  No, I was NOT competing (though I did master the caper toss), but I got to see the scouts having lots of fun.  I also got to stretch the limits of my camera, and I had fun shooting some long exposure photography.  Take a look at these shots: For this shot I exposed the photo for 30 seconds.  There was absol...

It's Party Time Y'all!

Image
So as soon as April hits, it's party time in the Jenkins' home!  Since our girls have their birthdays in April, May, and June, it just feels like we fly from one fiesta to the next!   Sharlie turned 5, and we threw a super awesome party for her, with lots of her friends from Spokane.  The theme Sharlie chose was "Fashion Puppies," and funny enough, you can find fashion puppy decorations at Oriental Trading Supply!  Who knew?  Take a look at some of the fun the kids had: The games started in the backyard, where the kids had a treasure hunt.  They had to find doggie treats! Some of the kids held hands.  Sharlie loved having all her preschool friends there. The games then moved downstairs.  Notice the watchful dinosaur in the background! The kids had to crawl as fast as they could across the floor... ...then they had to bite a newspaper and take it back.  After the kids did it, Brooke and I raced.  Brooke was ahead,...
